I'm looking for the cheapest, easiest way to strip paint from the tank/plastics. Any suggestions?

Strip paint? I wouldn't unless it's really bad. Why not just scuff it and paint over it. If the paint is sticking to the parts already then its good paint. Stripping of the plastics is going g to require harsh chemicals which might mess up the plastic. The tank you could chemically strip but I would scuff it, wipe it down, lay any adhesion promoter you might need, then base and clear and obviously wetsand between coats if needed.

Which grit of sandpaper would i use to scuff it down? I had no idea I could paint over the existing paint. I thought the new paint would never stick if done that way. Good to know.

Could I still use bondo to fill in a small dent if I don't strip all of the paint completely?
