The one watch I really really really want (besides this year's Daytona) is a old school LED with the red LEDs that stay lit. Kinda like the old dot matrix handheld video games. If anyone has a clue where to get one please tell.

An old Citizen Quartz watch, having trouble getting it open to replace the battery. No tab for a screwdriver, no notches for the tool. I believe some may twist off, and I can see on the backside where the gasket is poking out a little bit, but I'm not sure how to get it open. Any tips from a pro before I go at it full force?

LOL - I didn't know there were so many watch questions. I really like how this thread has kept going!  :thumb:

You should find the tab near where the band connects. I think you can see it in photo 2 on the left side bottom.
I am not interested in anything you have to say

now this is cool. been a while since ive had a russian wristwatch. unlike the cheap chinese stuff these are actualyl well made. some of the CN stuff is pretty good. but the russian or soviet era watches are great. not seena crappy one. except when trying to find spare parts to repair one. then it becomes a royal pain

I could have sworn there wasn't a recess, but it was just years of grime caked in there. Got it open, battery ordered.

Is there an easy way to snag a gasket for the back? It's dried and broken. Maybe a bead of RTV?  :technical:

batteries are avail. at walgreens. i buy mine in bulk but single batteries youre good to go there. can you post a pic of the battery?  most common size is a 377. but yours may be different. or post a pic of the inside? anyhoo once replaced can try using thumbs and fingers to reclose it. many times this works. but many times ive got to use my case press. One of these , is what im referring to: when io took over hte business, i had a swiss press, most of the tools are swiss as well. got em cheap cause he just walked out.  ;)
but the chinese stuff works too. i just like the swiss stuff. cause idk it works better on the pricier watches. or the better assembled stuff like your citizen now your o ring. you CAN do without it, but it kills the waterproffing/water resistance. so might as well replace it. just get the model number off the back of it. or if you want to go cheap, you CAN use a small rubber band ;)
