Any interest in fork rebuilding?

I have a pile of forks and so decided to finally rebuild them.

After LOTS of frustration with the new ones and just painful, time consuming work with the old ones.....

1. Bought the real set of Suzuki fork tools
2. Modified one to better grip the newer-can't-open-up forks.
3. Bought the real Motion Pro fork seal tool
4. Bought the Motion Pro fork oil measuring tool/syringe thingy (I have to use "thingy" in most every post even if not necessary)
5. Went to Harbor Freight and bought impact wrench and set of allen bits (new use 7mm, old use 8mm)

So, is there interest in rebuilding forks now that I have all the tools to do it? Saturday I rebuilt a set for ommpa's bike pretty fast and totally painless (due to buying all the right tools).

I could come up with a price to
1. replace the seals (your seals or I provide them and charge you for them)
2. Replace springs and cut the spacers for no extra charge (you provide the new springs and length of spacer material)
3. Return empty or with fresh oil (oil costs $ and extra weight and length of finished fork increases return postage) Oil at your specified level like 120mm to 90mm. 10w or 15w oil. If not specified, 15w and oil level by the Suzuki manual.
4. No difference in price for newer or older forks.
5. New crush washer on bottom fork bolt
6. Thorough cleaning of outside for that "like new" look a lot extra - cleaning grime off can take more time than rebuilding a fork. Really!
7. Tubes would be rubbed down with fine steel wool to be sure they are smooth.
8. Minimal cleaning to get excess oil off would be done at completion.
9. Old seals and springs (if replaced) returned unless you say to toss them.
10. Customer pays postage both ways.

Be careful with those Allen tools from HF. I've broken two with not much torque on them. It's was the 6mm both times. Now granted these were the ball head Allens also.

These are the impact wrench ones, not the manual ball head ones.

id be interested.  im waiting for my car to sell so i can buy some sonic springs, and i wanted to rebuild mine at the same time for good measure.  i know nothing about it so i was a little apprehensive.... so id love to have somebody do that for/with me.

this is true. but when i bought my forks in 2003 here, they were sent in a box well padded sans oil. hey adidas, another idea in addition to the options you mentioned, since you seem to have the hookup on parts. maybe recondition a few sets and offer up for sale? id say anyone here can fill them, so they could be shipped empty. course im not sure exactly of the weight difference empty versus full

I may be interested down the road. Would be looking to get a set of new 04+ forks pulled apart and shipped in pieces. I'll be modifying the guts to install racetech gold valves. I'll let you know when i get to that point.
