The young man who is purchasing my bike does not do his own maintenance!  I know, crazy, right?

Since he does not want these parts, maybe someone on the board can use them:

Sunstar rear sprocket, 39 teeth, $25 (ebay $40)
steel front sprocket, 16 teeth, slightly used, $5 (ebay $20)
Wix oil filter, $3 (ebay $6)
mirrors, $5 (ebay $22)
One has a bolt that is difficult to turn.  Both look good and glass is perfect.
fuel petcock, $12 (ebay $35)
One new fork oil seal, $2 (ebay $9 / pair)

or $40 for everything that's left.

Plus shipping cost, or pickup in Santa Rosa, CA.
Listed ebay prices do not include shipping either.

Cheers

SOLD Factory Service Manual (I laser printed, single sided), $5 (ebay $30)
SOLD set of Valve shims and buckets, includes 9 buckets and 9 shims, $30:
SOLD F-16 touring 13.25" windscreen, $10

god bless guys that don't do their service. I have put in smallest shim in my bike. 2.15mm Is there a possibility thinner bucket that you mention might help. If so I need one, thinnest you have. Im in sf. might come by this week.

BeerGarage

I may have sold the buckets.  If he does not buy them today I will give you the thinnest one free.  But don't let the valve fall through the head!

Lots of people are asking for the shipping estimate, but nothing is actually sold yet.  All this can still be yours.

You are driving all the way up from the city?  Man, I can't charge you for one bucket.  OK, how about $5 for one bucket, but you get one of these other fine items absolutely free!

steel front sprocket
wix oil filter
repair manual
mirrors
Katana rear spring
fork oil seal

I would happily charge you $25 for one bucket, and throw in all that stuff free.  Just putting that out there.  Don't answer now, just think about it.

OK, PM me your phone number and I'll give you directions.

Cheers.

I like to drive  :dunno_black:

I am desperate about that valve. It is at 0.08mm now, but it was unmeasureably tight for at least 1500miles since I got the bike. It is closing that gap with every mile i do on the bike. I can feel it :icon_lol:  I was thinking of grinding the shim... but thinner bucket  :icon_exclaim:  :icon_idea: :woohoo: :icon_idea: :icon_idea: :icon_idea: :woohoo:

definitely worth a shot.

My plan to drive this thing for at least next 17000003.5 miles feels possible now. All I need is 0.05mm to keep that valve loose and cool.

lets say I come by and we'll see.

I wonder about that kat spring. does it fit stock shock?...I wonder...

Beemersworld

I put a katana shock on mine,   It was an exact fit,    The one I got had the resevior that we had to mount somewhere but it was very easy to install

What is the advantage of only switching springs vs. the whole shock?  It certainly be easier/faster to do the whole shock.  Is it stiffer this way? Advantageous to remain stock height?

yes. kat spring on stock shock. I planned a katana shock, but Why not just change a spring. it will be stiffer, still bouncy but better.
I have 0.9 springs up  front. just set the sag today. I can feel the rear is not up to the job, but it is not that bad. stock front was bad.

After all I did (springs, lunchbox, rejet, 15/39 sprockets) i have no desire to invest.  Only fuel, oil, rubber and miles.

I love the thing, I'm having loads of fun, but it is only a gs.

so that's my thinkin'...

cheers.

BeerGarage

The only advantage I can see, is the Katana shock I bought was leaking and worthless, so I took the spring off, and was going to put it onto the stock shock absorber, which I know is good.

You can buy a leaking shock for less than a nice working one.  Or the ebay seller can not know the difference and sell you a bum shock for the price of a good one.  I think he refunded everything but shipping, though, so fine.

Got your PM.  The other person still has not paid for the shims.  If he does not buy them, you have dibs.
