interesting carb issues

So Ive cleaned and jetted the carbs. I replaced the air mixture screws with the longer ones (which are really nice BTW) and at 2.5 turns out, I had zero riding issues last week. Its pulled hard in all the gears, no hesitation coming out of first, no stumble. Everything seemed good. I easily put 50-60 miles on it.

Today I go out and fire her up, go around the corner and she starts to spit and sputter. Went back home and turned the screws out another 1/2 turn for a total of 3 turns out and she was great again.

Our temps outside are that much different from last week. Maybe 15* cooler since I was riding earlier in the day today that last time. Any other ideas?

Fully warmed. It had sat and idled for a good 15mins as I was checking for fuel leaks and adjusting my clutch cable. I just changed all my fuel lines out so I'm always watching for leaks.

Carbs were very recently balanced

Maybe it was just the temps.

could be a combination of both. cooler air is more dense = lean + it takes a long time for the engine warmth to reach the carbs = leaner (maybe?)

Maybe. I've still got to put on my other pipes with my wide band O2s to dual it in more.
