Rear seat cowl attatchment?

Hey guys, been a bit inactive with a zx6 trackbike project I'v been doing. But this has taught me how to fiberglass!!!!!  :woohoo:

So I have decided to try to make a fibreglass seat cowl for my gs500f. I have a VERY rough shell going atm and am up to adding and shaving layers and all that (in hindsight a better attention to the makeshift mould would have been worth it).. subject to exams/uni and track days on the zx....

Before I go too far I wanted to get a good plan going, but I am stuck.  :dunno_black:

I need your Ideas on how to attach the cowl to the rear of the bike.

Information you need to know:
- Pillion grab bar is taken off

- no permanent modifications to outside of the bike (seat or fairing), it has to resell perfectly in a year or so... so im thinking under seat attachment... I dont mind drilling into or gluing to the bottom of the seat, cos its unseen.

- it will be relatively easy to remove so I can ride round to the gf's house, take the cowl off with watever tools that are in the tool kit under the seat, leave it at hers and take her for a ride.

So give me your ideas, and lots of detail. Dont just tell me what to do to the seat, if it involves a strap for example, what's the best way to attach the other end to the fibreglass..?

I welcome any ideas, will take photo's of the shell and the terrible mould later on but will probably only post it all up if the project goes through.

To get you guys thinking I had the following ideas but I honestly have no idea if they would work:
-use metal button clip thingo's (found on bike jackets) with 2-5 straps around the cowl. lengths and placement would need to be perfect, and would glue the button bits to each point nessesary (seat -> strap + strap -> cowl)

-solid bracket attached to cowl via screws or bolts from the outside and similar into the seat, not sure on how to screw into the seat. could glue block of metal or wood or something maybe.

Thanks for anything/everything  :D

If anyone wants to know the shape is similar to this guys when looking from above, but from the side is slightly more 'Busa' like... http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=49490.0 and I will be using rubber trim as well to help prevent marking the fairing.

I've got a couple of ideas, if you set it up properly you could potentially use it as small storage as well, for instance in the thread you referenced it looks like you could fit a hat and maybe a small fly box between the cowl and the seat (though his is permanently attached).

from what i see for removable cowlings they tend to be "slip on" so you take the seat off and slide them on or they flex and kind of grab the sides, i don't have Autodesk anymore so i can't make a good 3d model to show you, but if you look of the GS500E single seats (adidas has one) you could possible mimick that style as well.
