I when out for a high speed run last nice day here in Colorado, i got my bike up 105 in forth gear an was afraid to take it any higher... Anyway after the ride the guy behind me said i had a back fire with a blue flame, next i know, about 10 miles down the road my bike sputters an loses power (think cause i was running out gas), ok so on to the Problem im haveing now, she having a problem cranking, an about after 30 mins of riding theres a few click from some were an she drops to about 25 mph an wants to shut off when i stop. ok what i know at this point

1. she has a decaying needle in one of the carbs soon to be replace

2. she need a high attitude tune up cause i came from north carolina

3. her age might be an issue, even tho she only has 22,xxx miles on here (she was a race bike from what the guy i bought her from said an might have a few race mods done to her

If anyone knows any thing or has questions let me know or ask i want to get her fix this bikes a gem to me an im willing to do anything to fix her with what little money i have

Race bike ?

If it were mine, first thing would be a compression test with a real compression gauge (as opposed to the 'thumb in teh sparkplug hole ' method).

Then go from there. Because without good compression you'll be wasting time on the other stuff.

my buddy has a mechanic shop i might see if i can take it up there but that doesnt explain the clicking i think that might be something more serious just dont know were to look

A lot was talked about in the first post.

Valve clearance?  Battery weak?

Also, these bikes consume oil.  Make sure you check it often, or your engine will be toast.
Bikeless and Broke at the moment...

She ... and has a decaying needle ... you may want to have a doctor look @ that.

Your description is too vague ... but 30 mins after riding you lose power ? you low on oil ? If not, you may have a crank trigger that is going ... dont worry, in that cse, 30 min wil lturn into 20, then to 10, then to 5 and then to 0 ... it loses a cyl, never to run on 2 again.
Cool.

(but my gf is the same about her daddys rocket so guess its fair) 8-)

Could be a broken valve spring that pops out when hot and pops back when cold..

just got a call back from my buddy (hes a mechanic, but not the best bike mechanic) but he said might be something in the carbs that changes the flow, an the needle could be getting hung, an agrees the compression might be something to look into
