We're GS500 people. You expect us to have any knowledge of parts for non-GS500 bikes?  :dunno_black:

Haha, Adidasguy... I think where weedahoe was going with this is that the SV650 throttle tube is a known replacement for the GS500.  Advantage to upgrading is you don't need to grab more than a full twist like the GS500 throttle tube to get WOT.

I believe I read a post awhile back that SAFE-T did this upgrade on his GS500... but I may be wrong... I was just thinking it was also in a thread about 17T sprockets, and he is usually in on those threads... Also, seems it may be an advantage to racers, so I bet burning1 knows about it too.

A quick search through the wiki didn't come up with anything - so it sounds like we need an addition on this in the upgrades area.

This is a good site to check for this kind of thing.  You can look up a part, and when you click on it you get a list of all the years and models that also use that part.

Here you go Mike.

Edit:Basically it looks like you need one from a Gen 1. 99-02

did some digging and heres what i found (maybe it'll help someone later)

the ideal year sv650 tube is 99-02...Motion Pro makes a replacement tube for it that also fits these models

1999-2008 Suzuki SV650
2000-2006 Suzuki GSX-R750
2004-2006 Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa
2004-2006 Suzuki GSX600F Katana
2003-2005 Suzuki GSF1200S Bandit
2001-2004 Suzuki GSX-R1000
2000-2003 Suzuki GSX-R600
1999-2002 Suzuki SV650S

the Motion Pro part number is 01-1045 if you want a new tube instead of a used one (it's $10.99 on their website))...also the used tubes from all of those bikes should fit and work the same on our GS's...i'm ordering one and will let you know my findings

ordered from this dude on ebay. Sent him an offer to sell off ebay and got it for $25 shipped i believe.

Its a great upgrade and makes throttling much more comfortable. I'm going to look into an r6 throttle tube, its even shorter pull, but needs some work on the stops to fit 100% correctly on the GS. SV is a direct replacement.
if yer binders ain't squeakin, you ain't tweakin!

Nathan, that's what I had found also but when I had went to their site I didn't see anything for different years even though the thread said there was a difference after 02.

Well I ordered one so well see when it gets here.
