Since my OEM had a few scratches, I decided to cover them up. I drove it around quite a bit today and had zero issues

Ill be getting new muffler(s) here soon anyway but I was bored and I thought it came out well.

 Wrap?

I'd like to do something like this to my V&H can. Just put on the stove polish to the pipes, but the label on the can is pretty bad and I'd like to get it matching the rest of the system.

Yeah, like the fairings I was working on, it too is 3M DiNoc carbon fiber wrapped. I used a piece at 16"x12" and trimmed off the edges. 3M adhesion promoter is a must

I did close to 100 miles since it has been put on. Some were sitting there idling. After I got off I put my hand literally on it and could hold it there. The shield doesnt get as hot as the actual muffler

i know im getting that stuff it looks sick just wondering if it will start to come off with the eat

I drove quite a bit today and had no issues. It's on the shield and not the actual muffler so I don't expect any issues

Looks really nice, weed.

My son's been talking about wanting to replace his stock muffler, but when I showed him your pics last night, he did a complete 180, and wants to do this instead.

His stock muffler is one of the flat black painted ones -- any thoughts on whether this might cause problems with the adhesive?

On a side note really quick, they make this material in a big variety of colors.

As long as the OEM muffler has the actual heat shield on it, I don't see it being an issue. It is riveted at the top and welded at the bottom

Were you able to find it locally, or did you get it online?  My wife really liked the look of it, too, and she controls the purse strings, so we may try this as soon as we can find some of the wrap.

Weed...how much would you charge for labor and materials to wrap a whole GS500f fairing and tail?

crzydood17
