But I think the item in question is EITHER ... A urethane bush for suspension component .... Or ... A sleeve thingy for the centre of an outdoor table so the big umbrella thingy don't wiggle around too much!

Close enough. It's a plastic bushing made by Igus.  Good stuff.  I have a plastic Heim joint on my shift linkage: $6 and holding up to hundreds of shifts per day.

Sorry guys, lazy day yesterday and Internet was kaput at work today... So I dug around the project box and found this ... The first photo is just normal side on .. And I would say the thing is 45 mm x 35mm more or less.. Second photo is probably the angle and aspect you would normally look at this widget.... I had to remove this one cos it was worn and replaced it with an aluminium one in same shape... Soooooo ... Lets go!!...
