Part of a bee hive WTF? I've looked at schematics of hives and see nothing that looks like this thing.



Only maybe possible thing is the screened bottom board. But yours is not a board so stuffed if I know.  :dunno_black:

When you "install" a new hive, you get a big box of bees:



And a separate pre-mated queen:



They come from different farms and aren't familiar with each other. The queen cage has a big stopper of candy in it so while the workers chew through it, the queen and workers get acquainted so they don't kill the queen and think she's and intruder.
