it looks a little like a safety latch/hook that filing cabinet drawers.. or more specifically the runners/sliders of the drawers.. use to prevent over extension and falling of drawer to floor.. but the orientation is wrong... and they dont usually have a stamp/brand in them that needs to be hidden by some tape!!
