You're a little closer with the 3D printer guess, but it's not directly related to printing of any type.
The color is irrelevant, if that helps any.

I had another thought... I think the box itself is a tool... stripping/joining/crimping/tipping thing for electrical/electronic cables. .. ? .. and fancy color (probably a range of them) because tradies have to be stylish nowadays! Lol

Elmojo

I suppose you could call it a tool, but it would be a bit of a stretch.
It does help you accomplish something, but not directly, as in physically making/repairing anything.
Does that help or confuse more?  :flipoff:

Is it some type of jig?

Elmojo

Eeeehhhh....only in a very vague sense.

Janx101

Ooooh oooh! I know now! ... it's a. Baby Borg!!

Elmojo

Come now, do you really think the BORG would be so crass as to allow their cube to be PURPLE?!  :icon_eek:    :cookoo:

Ok hint: It's hollow inside, and the inside doesn't do anything...  helpful, right?  :icon_rolleyes:

Janx101

It's a baby!.. lotsa babies look a bit purple or red when born!

Ok hollow... so it's a gauge of something measurer? .. ie. .. if it fits in 'that bit' you can use it to do job but too big or small and try again?

Elmojo

Okay, fair point, purple babies....

You're sorta on the right track, but it's not used to directly measure or gauge anything physical.

Janx101

..... ok. ... much head scratching..... hrm. ..

A layout map reminder thingy? .. for different parts of a machine/circuit board? ..

just happens to be shaped as a cube?!

Failing that... a paperclip holder for a company wanting to advertise their stuff in a novelty way!!?

Elmojo

I posted a tough one, I see!  :woohoo:

You're getting closer with the layout reminder guess, but it's not for a machine or circuit board, though those types of parts could be related to the complete product.
You are correct that the shape of the object is not directly related to its function.

Janx101

.... and we are the only ones bothering..   sigh.. .

Template blank panel pusher outerer? ... ummm like for assembling stuff and you push whatever appropriate side into the thing to clear the injection molding scraps away? ... I'm sure there's a term for what I'm tryin to describe but I don't know it!

Gonna need a direction pointer soon.... not so much a clue but a nudge toward industry type?

mennobike

I'll have no idea what piece you're referring to unless you include one of the following: Doobly doo, thing-a-ma-jigger, or dibbledy dop.

Iarn

Janx101

Ok mojo. .. a direction pointer or a hint or a hot tip. ... if you please !?

Sorry for the delay guys, when the site went down, I stopped getting post notifications, and only just realized.
