So the clear rectangle is a shield,  protect eyes I reckon...

the aperture in the white dome thing means something long and narrow....

Zooming in... looks like the little dingus inside the dome is a sliding/reciprocating head? Holding maybe a tungsten blade/tooth? ...

(This is sounding silly if I'm way off track!) ...

Like a specialist knife or blade sharpener? ... metal sampler/notcher? ...

Looks like a laboratory machine or butcher/deli machine....

That's as close as I can get right now!

It is totally okay Janx  ;) No, not a sampler... but it can be used to *thinks how to put this* ... it can be used to make part of something sample-able !

No it doesn't do any testing... and the box it's attached to is the rest of the machine. You put something down in where the narrow apparatus is....

Omg you are very close!!!

It does something to tubing... not glass tubing though... that enables testing on what is in the tubing but won't contaminate the rest of what it's attached to...

This machine isn't used for surgical tubing (at least not at my job)... but it IS used for tubing that's used in the medical / hospital setting...

No radiation involved here...
