I assume most Suzuki dealers will supply new shims, any one have an idea of how much they hold you to ransom for?  Any one know of alternative suppliers, preferably in the Brisbane area.

I ended up just buying 14 from Canada of varying sizes(on ebay). worked out to be about $6 each including postage which is about the same as the wreckers near me if they have the size you are looking for.

This is the site I bought it from

2005 GS500F
0.95 Sonic springs front
07 Yamaha R6 rear shock
Stainless steel brake lines
Diablo Rosso II Tyres
89 handle bars front forks
Airbrush hugger
rear fender removed completely

Cheers, seems they only sell shim kits now, not individually.  might see what local prices are like and also consult with a local mechanic and see what he'll charge for a "tune" up., though I hate paying for work I can probably do myself.

5 bucks at pro Honda rocklea. Fella there is helpful and will let you pick through what you need.
Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

I asked at my local dealer and they gave me a pair for free. (Although they did ask that I bring my old ones in to replace them. I was also quoted $10 each over the phone.)

#7
Canberra Motorcycle Centre in Fyshwick, Canberra. It's a huge new shop too, so it's not like they know me or anything. I guess the guy was just feeling nice.

(PS I'm pretty sure the shims aren't actually new, as they came from their big drawer full of miscellaneous shims. They're still the correct thickness though.)

ThatOtherGuy

Thanks, but Fyshwick is a bit far from Brisbane.  Hopefully though some one may benefit from this generous dealer.

Yeah, it sure is too far. I reckon you should just ring up a few shops and ask if you can do a swap with them. Anyone who works on engines will have a big collection in every possible size. At the very worst they'll sell them to you for $5-$10 I reckon.

I use these guys in Melbourne for my 450:

$9.90 each and they express post them so you get them the next day. No complaints so far...
