HID Bi-xenon projector retrofit completed

Parts -
Morimoto 2.8" Bi-xenon HID projector and shroud
D2S 6000k bulb
D2S to AMP adpater
4th Gen HID ballast
90mm xB halo ring (105 SMD LEDs)
strip of RGB LEDs
7 watt CREE parking bulb

Im not new to projector retrofits but I almost went too big on this one. At one point I didnt think the projector and shroud were going to fit but hey, what can I say, Im just that good.

I tried that a few months back and I also ask for guys to do a group buy on materials and parts so we could all get them cheaper...... There was zero response.

For those who wanna know what my costs were. I could have used a smaller and cheaper projector, I could have used a cheaper halo ring, the RGB strip wasn't essential and the parking bulb didn't have to be changed. So you could do this for less but this is how I chose to do mine. I think mine totals up to around $205. But to me that's cheap when you figure I'm running Infiniti Gatlin Q45 projectors that by themselves cost me $500 and another $250 in SMD LED rings not counting everything else.

Installed the light today in another fairing. Also VHT'ed an old windshield I had until I get my smoked Zero Gravity. Also added my chrome spikes around the windshield and where the OEM mirrors used to be. I still have to connect the RGB strip in the projector shroud to my controller but Im waiting on other parts to add to it still

What are you going to use for a RGB Controller? I just got 5 meters of the same strips you used. mine are waterproof. I couldn't tell if yours were. I got a 44 key remote / controller combo. Playing with them in the package has been fun. I plan to install them around the bike. Also a single 3w RGB for the front parking light. That one controller is rated at 6 amps. 2 per channel. so every thing will run through it and be the same color. did you get more led strip or just whats in the shroud?

I don't use IR controllers, only RF. They cost a bit more but are much better. Most of what I have are 12A controllers. I've got about (25) 5M rolls and 400M of wire. All mine are IP65 (waterproof). I do a lot of custom work with them so I normally keep a lot on hand. I've got a lot of spare pieces anywhere from 2-3ft I usually sell off as lot sells when I get too many laying around.

which shroud is that?
I've done retrofits before and really want to do one for the GS, but the one thing that's been holding me back is shroud choice since space inside the housing is so limited. looks like the one you used needs minimal trimming to fit properly.

No, you are seeing everything correctly. I just gave you that link for some shrouds to see. Mine is a standard 3" projector shroud. Im not sure the name of it. I used it because it was the only one I had that was a single piece and not part of a set.

Mostly, i'm interested in the measurements (if you took any)... depth and width in particular. don't want to order a shroud only to have to hack 75% of the material away and lose the overall design.

I had to trim at least 75 % of the shroud to get it to fit when I did the retrofit on my bike. The shroud I used was http://www.theretrofitsource.com/product_info.php?products_id=1356

That was probably the hardest part of the retrofit - trimming the shroud to get it to fit. Most of the trimming for me was around the bottom half of the shroud that rests just above the running light. Just take a bit off at a time, test fit, and repeat. Fortunately the shrouds are not too expensive, so if you mess up you can always buy another. The rest of the install is fairly straight forward.
