are you referring to syncronizing the carbs?   i read you didnt have to sync them unless seperating the carbs.  ill check the fuel levels tommorrow at work.   gotta find some clear hose that will fit

Yes, sychronizing.  I'm pretty sure anytime you remove them, you should synch them.  I have done it every time I've taken them off, and they've always needed adjustment to balance them.  I've never separated the carbs from each other and they still seem to get out of balance, I think it has to do with the throttle cable being disconnected from the carbs.

You could always build this homemade carb sync tool: http://wiki.gstwins.com/index.php?n=Maintenance.5CarbSync

Here are instructions on how to sync the carbs: http://wiki.gstwins.com/index.php?n=Maintenance.CarbSync

so for checking float levels,  im guessing put bike on center stand, attach mose and open drain screw.  bike running or off and what should i have the fuel switch too?

i wanna ride again!

Bike off.  Put petcock on prime, but don't leave it on prime when you are done.

Oops!  Didn't realize there was page 2!

I would sync by eye if it were me.  That will get you close enough for now.

How do you do this?  I have a mercury balancer that I use.  I wouldn't even know where to begin syncing by eye.

This happened to me, ended up being water in the fuel circuit.
Friendly fire, isn't. But it's the most accurate. Semper Fi
