Another gas tank question

Will the F tank fit on my '02E? They look the same. Also, what is the plastic piece called that sits under the back part of the seat and surrounds the tail light? Is that called a frame cover?

It will fit but your u either need a F seat to go with it or cut yours. The rear plastics are called rear fairings

2001+  are all the same seat and tank.
1989-2000 are the other style.

There are electrical differences in various years. '04 added an oil cooler (which is easy to mount - been there done that).

04+ added the fairing.

The tail plastics are compatible for 2001+. One year they added a little slit in the tail for appearance and changed the decals, but that's all.
