Small electrical issue

Ok, so about two weeks ago I washed the bike. Now, when I wash it, I don't floor it with water. It's a small very little pressure stream and just enough to rinse off any soap.

But afterwards I noticed my neutral light dim when in any gear and bright as normal when in neutral. I thought maybe a little water got in the neutral switch and figured once the bike was ridden and at full temp, where ever it was, it would dry out and all would be fine.

Here recently I noticed my battery being dead after leaving sit for a few days. I recently replaced the battery a few weeks back but I know better than to assume it's a good battery just because it is new.

So tonight I spend some time trying to find whatever ground/short/feedback in the circuits. I disconnected several things to no avail. Finally I disconnected the kickstand switch and the dim neutral light went out.

Cool, I'll replace the switch I thought. I did and had the same problem. My bike sits in a chock so I don't leave the stand down. With the stand up, the dim neutral light comes on. With the stand down, the light goes off. In letting it up and down, I can hear the relay click by the flasher. So I replaced it too and still the same issue.

Anyone heard of this issue from another thread or member or have any idea where to go next?

Dim neutral light is a non issue. There is warer inside the tape that wraps up the dual diode. Thee is some current leaking across the terminals. Most noticeable with led indicators as they take very little current.

You can ignore it and after a while it will dry out. Or you can search for it in the taped wiring harness under the seat and unwrap it to dry it out.

Happens or can happen when spraying water wih force on the right side just under the seat.

It is not draining the battery and the switch is ok. With bike turned off, there is no power to anything. Though with what you did, remove seat and let bike sit out in the sun to dry out all your electrical system.

Never pressure wash a bike or use lots of pressure around the seat and electrical system.
