Nice, I have an extra rim sitting around polished but with fugley paint and was thinking of stripping the whole thing. Anybody try this, have pics or feedback?
Friendly fire, isn't. But it's the most accurate. Semper Fi

Stripping the whole thing will look nice... until it starts to oxidise after the first wash or after you hit the first bit of rain... whichever comes first... keeping the hub and surrounds will be a nightmare to keep shiny but if you're up for a bit of regular labour it will sure look nice :)

There is a shop near that is pretty good at clear powder coating,  maybe when I get off my lazy ass I'll strip it down and give it a try.

Is this bike being parted out? I saw the polished rims for sale on ebay! Says it is a 2005 in California. Or did another member do the same thing?
$65 each plus postage (front and rear available).

Hmmm, just checked the garage and my GS500 is still there and not up on blocks with missing wheels. :icon_lol:  So not my wheels, looks like someone else has prettied up their GS wheels as well.

Hey thanks kind of wraps up the impact, getting that full shot. They look excellent, really. Nicely compliment the bike. I think in the end I prefer the all black look though I may come back to this once I have had my bike longer.

I have been back to this thread a few times and may have to retract the above statement! Its looking good... ugh now I am thinking I should consider this in the spring..

That set of wheels is still on ebay. Not sure if I should snatch them up at the last minute.
