Hey guys,

I am on a mission to raise my bike sometime soon, since it looks pretty cheap probably pretty dang soon. I know that the bike has some lowering links installed on it from the previous owner, but I am wondering if I should just buy a Katana shock on ebay, or if I should go with getting some larger or smaller dog bones, don't exactly know which dog bone fixes the problem to raise the bike. Would the Katana shock still raise the bike if the bike has lowering links? Any help is appreciated, and links to a cheap Katana shock that would work to raise it would be awesome.

Plus the kickstand wont work, if I want to park it somewhere I have to put it up on the center stand.

Generally the rear shock is fine. I have a huge pile of stock dog bones free to anyone who wants some.
Given it is an 89, you might want to put on a newer stock shock. For under 200 pounds, the stock is OK.
I guess some day you need to come to West Seattle. That might answer lots of questions all at once.

Haha for sure, lets see, Im gunna be at school pretty much all the time except for weekends, but I definitely wanna take you up on those free stock dog bones, you think that would fix my problem? If theres a nice weekend and I am not busy with my girlfriend maybe ill have to ride out and meet you.

Let's see - West Seattle is at most 20 minutes from Renton (I used to go to Renton Motorcycles before they closed) so weekends are best anyway so......

Stock dog bones would raise you 2" or so. Its free so there's nothing to lose except 15-30 minutes to change them out (depends on how tight your bolts are).

Which is more important: motorcycle or girlfriend?

Oh, and you can make money selling the lowering links!

What boat ramp were you at in the picture?

Yep, south GA. Its mid 70s all this week and half of next too!

Ok weed, we can set up something if all goes as planned and I swap out the dog bones. And Adidas, that would be the port at Mulkiteo, first day I bought the bike. Its supposed to be nice on Saturday, 40 degrees   , but its going to be sunny. She said she was down to ride out there with me so we shall see. Might need to get your phone number and address.

Thanks but sorry, I don't need them. My bike is already lowered in the front and back. I was just mentioning it for maybe someone else. But if you're close and wanna ride, we can do that. It's 79* today ;)

His videos are very good and I love watching them. iamramekin is also in GA and it may sound silly,
but his YouTube videos (vlogs) are the ones that inspired me to get my motorcycle license.  :thumb:

Depending on how much shorter those bones are, I may be interested in them. I'mma switch to a kat shock sometime this month, but I don't think I can take my GS being much higher--if the height differential between the two is zero or close to it, I'd love to buy them off you :)

Mechmech, id definitely consider selling them to you, but i need to decide if i like the stock bones or not. To get an idea of how low they'll get your bike look at the pic at the top. You'll need a lowering link kickstand too.
