Specific to the OP...What ever happened to "That dude is different/strange/weird?"  Back in the day, they just said you had problems.  Now there is an ailment for everything.  While on the topic...

We are getting way too soft as a nation.

And don't get me started on all of these parents that think that their kid does not need shots.  My son got pertussis (Whooping cough) BECAUSE people don't listen, and think that there is some sort of autism related thing.  Guess what people, it's been proven inconclusive. 

Kids in Cleveland get the Measles.  Why?  Cause of this crap.  It's total BS.

You would not surf the Internet without Antivirus.  Why send your kid to the germ infested school/general public without shots?

I get pissed at wrong facts touted as truth to support some fantasy.

One article circulated around from an "expert" showed how flu shot have toxic chemicals in them. He quoted Drugs.com about hydro-cortisone and that it should only be put on the skin. "So why is hydro-cortisone in a flu shot?" he asks.

The problem is he didn't pay attention to what he was quoting. He quoted TOPICAL hydrocortisone. There is tablet and injection form of it. That mis-statement was blatantly obvious to me because I have a bottle of hydrocortisone tablets for allergy. I immediately knew that "fact" was wrong. if you google "hydrocortisone" most of what you see is for the creams because those are over-the-counter.

Now this lie (or false fact) will circulate as the truth.

Problem is once the wrong fact is out there, you can't un-do the damage.

Remember - everything on the internet is true. I read it on the internet!

I make no pro or com statement about flu shots. That is your decision. Though statistics say not that effective. I never take one and never get the flu. Some friends take them and always get the flu.

Yo have to fact check when expert start proclaiming they know the truth. The only difference between an extert and other people is an expert says "this is the way it is 100% of the time - I know, I'm an expert" where everyone else knows things are not 100%. i fyou say 98% probability, you are not an expert. There was a Science Channel program on experts and how they are no more reliable than commoners. You can take a class to learn how to talk like an expert.

Another show on the brain shows how our memory and what we see is so flawed. We see what we want to see.

I had some PBA today. My process control professor started talking about poles and zeros for transfer functions. He said that if your feedback system is faulty then the poles get bigger and bigger and bigger until the thing bursts. I found this way too funny and after a few minutes of trying to suppress laughter, I lost it. After leaving the room to collect myself, I came back in, sat down and couldnt help but laugh. It was rough.
