Where do you buy your jets?

Why do you guys buy your jets from? You have to buy them in packages (multiples of the same ones)?

I have never worked on carburetors before, or much of anything. I'm up for the challenge. Plus my bike would REALLY appreciate it.

The only modification I have is a K&N Drop-In w/ restrictor on at the moment. I'm not going to do an exhaust for a while, until I have the funds.

Make it easier on yourself. Wait till you have the funds to do your exhaust then do your jets. You will only be doing it once then. You will need different jets once you put your exhaust on. Is the bike running incredibly lean at the moment with the K&N filter?

Buddha is the go to guy on this forum for jets. PM him for what you need, when you need it.

Dealing with places like Jets R Us is difficult here in Aus because they don't do Paypal etc.

I've found them cheap enough locally anyway at www.mikunioz.com.

There's another one www.iwt.com.au who's good as well but slightly dearer.

Both places will express post.

For the GS450, the same main jet applies N102.221 Small Round, but for the pilot you need to use the VM22/210 but there is a catch with this. The genuine Mikuni has bleed holes down the side whereas the stock 17.5 does not. I have not been able to determine at this point if a stock 17.5 flows any less fuel than a genuine Mikuni VM22/210 17.5.

Oh, and neither place stocks Mikuni needle shims, but I have discovered eBay seller "Exhaust Gas Technologies" that sell a shim kit which is excellent as it actually has three different size shims in there, whereas the Mikuni shims are all the same thickness.
