Okay so I uncovered my bike after the winter and I left it on prime. :( The look on my face was grotesque.  Anyways since I haven't started it for 3 months I drained the float bowls for as much as I could before starting the bike.  Now here's my confusion.  I was draining 1 of the float bowls and it wouldn't stop leaking our fuel.  I was sitting there for 5 minutes and it still kept going.  Is this normal? For your info I was using a very small hose however atleast 300ml came out the one side.  So I stopped and did the same with the other float.  The bike started after this.  Anything else I should be worrying about?

if its on prime it means you will have a continuous flow of fuel so it wont stop until you tank is empty

what I mean is that I took it off prime now.  So if I empty the floats it should stop before emptying out the tank?

Not totally accurate. I leave mine in prime all the time. Your carbs should not leak because your floats should lift the needles and seat (close) them

Your needles work.  Otherwise, your gas would have leaked all over where you stored your bike over the Winter.

Yes, if all works properly if you take it off of prime and empty the bowls, it should stop.  Here's how a vacuum petcock works:

Ignore the Pingel, just read and study the diagram.  It will make sense after that.

Thank you.  It stopped draining. Now all is well.
