This is my first bike and my first post!

I just installed an accessory power socket into my 2008 GS500F. I decided to attach it right to the battery so I could keep my GPS running even when the bike was turned off. I'm not worried about forgetting it and draining the battery.
Components:

I was debating where to put the socket:
up front in the steering hole

or even in the frame behind my knee.

I settled on just having it sit in the seat.

Mostly because the wires on the socket weren't very long so I didn't want to attach extending wires to them. Keeping it simple. I can pass the GPS wire through the little gap where the helmet strap would come out (just above the yellow caution sticker there) and up to my GPS that I'll have mounted with its suction cup onto the tank (it's a car Garmin Nuvi GPS).

(Conventional) Current goes from the red (+) pole of the battery, to the accessory socket, to the 5A ATO fuse, and back to the black (-) pole of the battery. I could have also just grounded the wire to the frame of the bike instead of attaching it to the black pole of the battery, but the battery has a screw so it makes attachment pretty easy.
