I've been waiting for a good B movie since the last F&F :)

Sideshow

Yeah, I'll go see it too, but I'm not going to rave about it.  Why?  Because it's these stupid stunt movies that get squids and insuance companies all riled up.  As if we don't have enough retarded helmetless punks attempting high-up stoppies.  And like insurance rates aren't already high.  Anyone who is an AMA member should understand why this movie should flop.  But like the NHRA, they can't stop bedazzlement.  I love the AMA and NHRA because they are set up to promote a safe sport because it's entertaining to be a part of it.  I support stunters who practice in tracks, in their driveways, and in big expanses of empty parkinglots.  But to bring this crap to public streets is just awful.

And that's what this movie will help to do.  If you saw the number of street racing punks that brought their crappy little rice rockets to the strip on the nights of F&F and got tickets, you'd understand that this just makes motorcycles an even easier target for the cops.  Thank god I'm in the north where most riders are pussies and won't attempt riding in the cold to go showing off on movie night.

Sorry, Sideshow, I'm gonna have to disagree with you. You cannot repromand these people for putting out something for entertainment value. THe problem is that no one likes to take responsibility for their own actions and would rather blame Movies and TV.
Frankly, if those idiots are copying everything they see in movies, this movie is the least of their worries. Let's all start taking responsibility for what we do.

That was awful.  Have to wonder why I want to see this one

Caught the preview tonight. It's actually not bad. I didn't go in expecting much (I saw Biker Boyz after all - on video at least), and it was better than I expected.  It doesn't take itself too seriously and even pokes some direct fun at F&F (I live my life 1/4 mile at a time...That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard!) The bikes are more varied than BB too (Did Suzuki bankroll BB?!) Our "hero" rides an Aprilia RSV, Cube a Daytona 955i, and there's a host of other sportbikes, customs, choppers, etc. Definately worth checking out, but I'd wait for dvd.

I wish I had some photoshop skills.
Toque, the movie, about a band of overly polite Canadian bikers and their knit hats!!
Yeah, silly and stupid, I know...

Made it out in the snow to see Torque tonight.  I'll second Octane's comment.  Its not bad.  Basically, all of the ridiculous, outlandish special-effects are shown in the previews and trailers, the other 95% of the film is just good old fashioned beautiful people zoomin' around on beautiful bikes.

Unlike some VERY obvious product placement by Pepsi-co (and their subsidiary, Frito-lay), the bike makes and models were very understated in the film.  I really had to concentrate to identify a few of them.  I guess what I'm trying to say is that the bikes weren't so much the stars of the film as they have been in other movies.

Basically, it was a good film for a snowy Saturday night.  The plot was silly and unbelievable, but honestly, did anyone expect anything else?

If FBI agents get to wear Converse All-star shoes and T-shirts and ride around in Hummers and not comb their hair, then where do I sign up?!?!

My verdict.. I'd say go check it out if you have eight-bucks burning a hole in your pocket.

I havn't seen Torque yet, but I saw BB last night at a friends house. It ranks up in my top five worst movies ever. I mean come on, a Hyabusa and I forget the other bike race on a dirt road. What a climax! Pure garbage. I don't expect much more from Torque.

I went and saw Torque last night.

Good and bad.

It started out good, making fun of F&F, and a nice fight scene.
Then some nice footage of fast ridin in the twisties.

Once it got past that, it got pretty outlandish.
People getting up unharmed from nasty highsides and 200mph wrecks, super-duper jet bikes that can barely catch a cruiser, bikes that bunnyhop over gaps, dirt-supersports, etc etc etc.
Tons of impossible stuff.

But it was entertaining if you tried to ignore that stuff, and typically they wore helmets and full leathers, so it could be worse.

Still, Im sure the squid quotient will go up in the spring.  :guns:
