guys i just noticed that my battery pipe thingee is not there, for i guess the vapours drainage or something. am afraid it might eat out my bike. will put in a new one but don't know where it should be hanging down. thanks guys. also any ideas if i should change the front tyre as i noticed a slight crack in central groove? its not that deep and rest of the grooves are pretty good as in fairly deep.

change the front tire.  If you have to ask if you should YOU SHOULD.  Wouldnt worry about the battery

Battery hose is supposed to be on the right. It runs down to the lower back of engine along with the sir box drain or somewhere there so it drains on the ground and not the bike.

Down by your right foot, the air box drain, gas cap drain, and battery vent hose all come out together gathered up in a holder.

Part #12 attached to the frame is bent around the 3 hoses to hold them together at the bottom:

Yup I would add the battery drain, but when the regulars are in here telling you that you dont need to hear it from me. If you have the proper (harder to find right draining) battery it will be on the right if you are sitting on the bike.  A more commonly left drain battery is available so some people replace with those.. however when the bike is on its side stand it can leak acid into the battery compartment, etc.

On the front tire pay attention to whether or not you get a bias or radial tire. Check the back and it may be best to match the tire type (bias with Bias, radial w radial). I know some disagree with this, but just wanted to mention it.

Post on here either pictures of the tires or the exact brand series/size so someone can help you figure out what you have if you dont know.

Will do @snake 2175. Thanks for the info and you are right, mine is on the left (the drain). Will post pics of the front tyre to get opinion of you guys so you can do its online postmortem  :2guns: ;)

Snake2715

probably why the drain tube is gone. check the right side it may still be in there somewhere..

Heres the deal on the tire.  If it shows any signs of cracking just replace them.  Its not like a car where you still have 3 good tires is one lets go.  Its your bike and your life so it doesnt matter to me one way or the other.  A 120 dollar tire isnt worth my life tho.  I parked my bike for a week last season due to my new tire not coming in on time when my rear tire got to thin for my likings.

@joshr08 thanks, will add that to the list of new chain front rear sprockets and a new rear brake caliper. I noticed rear brake spring thingee is not there. Wtf I've bought a lemon

joshr08

LOL not a lemon just someone elses headache.  When ever you buy anything used dont trust anything the seller tells you about anything unless they have the paperwork to prove it or you can see it with your own two eyes.  I love when people list things for sale that have had extensize engine work done but then have no paper work to prove it was done or even just pictures that would show the stuff was done.  Little things are expected to have to be tweeked or fixed when buying something from someone used.  Either from neglect, just plain wore out or personal choice.

For me whenever looking at a used bike tires, chain and sprockets and brakes are always in the back of my mind to be replaced unless they are new already.  I run a ton of miles and on a bike those things are the difference between coming home safe or going home in a bag.  Once you get a few things fixed up you will be set to go for a bunch of miles with just minor cleaning and maintenance.

Are you in the states? I know you should support teh local dealers.. but there are quite a few quiality online vendors for OEM replacement parts.. even tires can be had for low prices that way.

Maybe even ebay for the front tire 110/70 R17 I would search 110/70 and go from there on ebay. People can do the 17" various ways in their listing.

Again if your back is bias (most likely) then get bias for teh front. If your back is a radial (possible) get a Radial for the front.

And yeah get it up to snuff and you should be good. The reason these have the following they do is the simplicity and reliability, among others.

@snake2715, Well I'm in Pakistan so logistically conditions are not that feasible for finding stuff in abundance here. WTF  :embarassed: I know it sucks big time. Have dunlops front n rear, n ummm how do I know they're bias or radial eek... :embarassed: haven't read on the tyres though yet will do in morning.
@joshr8 should've contacted you before buddy cuz now I'll be having lemonade from my lemon bike  >:(, will keep your points in mind next time I'm out bike shopping :thumb: cheers guys.
