Justhopped on ky bike warmed it up and drove about 200 feel and it stalled sun I hit the throttle , I look down and my air filter is just laying there and my carb is spewing gas from it. I hook the filter back up and the leak stopped until I started it again. It idled fine but when I give it any gas it shuts off. The leak persisted so no cut the gas off and began my walk to work. Anyone know what caused this? It was fine this morning

I'm watching this thread too. I sometimes have a wet filter and one cylinder doesn't fire at idle.

float needle, float needle seat oring, etc.

bad oring in the carb.. thus when the float goes up it does not shut off the gas and the bowl overfills... that then gas has to go somewhere and the air filter is the next step.

agree with snake, float needles. Mine was leaking on the back end as well and here is what mine looked like..

took ~30 minutes to change and adjust float heights(just did it since i had the carbs off/apart.)

Also agree with Snake. Had it happen on mine once also.

And you were all correct (in my case). I replaced those o-rings last weekend. Idle is fine; and no more wet air filter. Thanks.
