I purchased to GS500F 3 months ago. The last owner dropped it and put a couple good scratches in the right faring. I have been trying to figure out what to do to cover them up. Replacing the stock decals is ($169.00) - Get custom made Vinyl decals ($200.00+) - Pruchase new faring. All a little too expensive for just a cosmetic issue. I am wondering if anyone has any idea on how to remove, fix, or cover these scratches without breaking the bank.

Short of buying a stock decal, you can remove the factory decals and replace them with "off the shelf" inexpensive decals from any number of sticker places.  Another option would be to remove the fairings entirely, sell them, and convert the bike to a naked "street fighter."  You'll end up breaking even or perhaps making money.
Good day to you!

You could get a black touch up pen from colorrite.com for $19.95 and touch up the scratches. You could carefully mask it off and spray it with the factory color. I'd then clean and clear coat all the plastics so they all have the same new shiny look.
Used fairing pieces in excellent condition do show up on ebay for probably $50.
What about having fun? Make a big band-aid with the word "OUCH" and stick it there  :D

just keep an eye out on ebay, i picked up full sticker(minus one) set for about 25 bucks from a dealership. if i remember correctly, i think 06 are the only ones that u need to buy an entire set rather then single stickers  :cookoo: in the mean time touch up paint works pretty well on sticker touch up ( learned that the hard way when my bike rolled down the driveway by itself  >:( )

I know this is an old thread, but I am curious as to what solution you chose to go with...?

Be aware, this is not very wise advise!
