hey all! name is Alex, i'm 26 from Mississauga, Ontario. Just picked up my first bike '04 GS500F . Love the bike so far, but I got a lot to learn about maintenance. anyone else In my area?? bike is stock, but in great condition, few scuffs on the faring and a small rip on the seat. gonna go thru some DIY fixes i think. here's a link to a pic. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10100616222063567&l=4a85c2d298

Welcome Alex.  The GS500 is a great bike to start on.  It is light, reacts well, is forgiving, and still can give a thrill when you twist the grip.  Mine needs to be in the 4000 RPM range to get peppy, and I love it.

Have fun.  Ride within your limits.  Take a riding course?  Feel the freedom!
