He guys i have a leak from the sprocket cover shaft seal i know that it can be chain lube but i cleaned it and its deffinately coming from there. What im wondering is if you guys know what the tool is to remove that seal and where i can get it from?
I got a quote from the mechanic for approx $150 to replace it when i got the seal for $10 So i figure ill do that myself on the next oil change.
Cheers

Basically you gotta get in there with an o-ring pick and pry it out
Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

I broke 4 picks before I got mine out.

Slow and steady. You'll get it.

I pried mine out only to find out it was easier to remove metal retainer & just start the engine. Oil pressure frees it...then pull out.

It didn't get messy? If not then great tip use the engine to do the hard work.

Only one shaft goes through the sprocket cover, and it isn't sealed.

There are 3 seals behind it.  Which one is leaking? Or were you going to replace all 3?

No. It came out slowly enough. Watch it then shut off engine and finish pulling it out.

I found out after installing the new seal & forgetting to put the plate back on. I started engine to test for leaks and saw it slowly move out.

If I'm going to replace the washers behind what do I need to remove I can't see to find it in my Haynes manual

If you have a tool set, you need to get one of these seal pullers--they pay for themselves in frustration saved with the first seal pulled:

Also, it looks like you'll want retaining ring pliers to remove those circlips.
