use the avgas . raced it in engines that had magnetos no problem .the modern ignition system has so much more grunt than old systems and will burn most residue off your plugs  . use it till a spark plug fouls (which i doubt ) than you will know. the infitismal amount of lead in there is there to stop valve seat recession.. When  NewZealand changed to unleaded fuel in early 1990s you could buy a lead additive to add to the fuel because we still had a lot of cars with cast iron heads with the valve seat cut directly into them, the lead acted as a lubricant on the valve seat .Modern cyclinder heads have there seats made of a lot high grade of steel and dont require seat lubricant .Higher octane fuel has less oil in it which the nongs on here dont seem to under stand this is why it burns cleaner .if i had acess to avgas i would use it .WHATS A SPARK PLUG WORTH $3?
