I was thinking of random stuff while riding home a little while ago when a pretty gross thing happened.

I've had the sniffles all day so I'm not surprised that I sneezed in my helmet.  I was stuck looking at lung butter stuck to the inside of my helmet for the last 10 minutes home. yuck.   Sorta cleaned up for now.
I plan to ride tomorrow too, so I'll be adding a hankie to my pocket.

Any other suggestions?

I feel you tho! Ive got seasonal allergies so spring time riding is both great and well...booger-ey...If its really bad I pull over into someplace and clean up...Curious to see how others cope with it tho...i Thought it was just something I had to live with!

It's not so gross but quite annoying to have an itch in your ear with a helmet on.

I had a bee fly into my partially open shield and landed right at my ear.  As it was trapped and wedged in it kept stinging me again and again and again...  I reached in and squished it as I had no choice.

Did my ear blow up like a balloon.  No fun.

mighta been a wasp John .. bees is a one shot deal .. well except for queen bees .. but the chance of having a queen bee in your helmet is .. remote...

i've been stung on the knob by a bee.... THATS no fun...  ....

my dad is a part time beekeeper and i sometimes help him with it ...

the helmet thing though ... ive sneezed fair bit in my Nolan helmet... never managed to coat the visor though... although i do have the chin wind guard in it .. maybe that helps the spray not swirl around?

Breath guard does keep it off the visor for me.

Lol... No I wasn't waving a magic wand at them ... 

We were up near Tamworth NSW , back in the day dad had 4 different areas around western NSW he kept bee boxes , with 40-70 hives per site ... This day had about 50 hives ... After lunch we started up working on them again ... But I had drank a lot of water at lunch ... So call of nature ... We had just finished working on a large hive (3 box brood chamber and 5 'supers'/honey boxes) ... Lots of bees flying around and heading back into their house ...

I needed to pee ...walked out of the box area by at least 30 metres, stood contemplating the miles of summer fields as nature tools it's course, went to zip up ... Must of had a bee walking around on my clothing ... Which happens... I must have brushed the bee with my hand ... Heard the 'angry buzz' ... Looked down ... Like a little Stuka dive bomber it was, or perhaps kamikaze! ....

BzzzzzzzzZZZZZzzzzzZZZZZZZZ!!!! Whammo!! ...  .... Also had 10 or 15 other stings around my arms and stuff earlier that day from cranky hives... So my adrenalin was pretty depleted ...  ... Worst bit really was getting the tweezers to pull the barbs out of the sting site before they buried themselves under the skin ... On your arm you can lift it close to your eyes to see the tiny barbs.... I wasn't about to ask dad to look close this time!!! ... Messing about for 5 mins trying to pull 'the finer than hair barbs' out .... Lots of little pinches/false grabs ... And a painful throb for about 5 hours , some minor-ish swelling for 2 days...
