Hey guys!

I'm new here so allow me to introduce myself, My name is Thymen i am from Holland and i am 19 years old.

last year i got my motorcycle license and also bought my first bike: a GS500E from 1990, the bike was a little beat up but still runs fine! i got bored with the stock looks pretty fast and because i like tinkering around with things i started taking her appart.

At the end of the summer 2012 my bike looked like this:

I still had a lot of ideas in my mind to clean her up, mainly involving a nicer color scheme,
so after i had stalled my GS for winter i started taking her appart.

the cold winter took it's toll on my motivation so i didn't work on my bike since early spring this year.
I had the frame sandblasted and powder-coated and made a water-cut crownplate(don't know english word)

then i started putting her back together and this is how she looks atm:

here is a picture of the crownplate:

still a lot of work to do but it's coming together!

Here is the Imgur folder which i will keep updating!

Nice!  :thumb: pics!  Welcome!  I admit I liked the way it looked before you did anything to it!

the crown plate Appears to be what many of us would call the dashboard. aka where the lights would go.

Update!

Finally got around to starting her last night,
after a nasty electrical problem which involved a rotten connector (a few actually)

we put some fuel in the carbs and she started on the first try!
after some time we noticed only the right hand cyllinder was fireing so next up is a good carb cleaning and such

here is how i left her last night:

Cheers!
