Any motor can probably be made to fit any frame if you have the skills and resources to do so.... For 800 though... There's no orig motor around anywhere that you could just bolt right back in? ...

And to drop 800 into a must be made to fit motor.... It could also be easier to sell off the rest of your bike .... Add that to the '800' figure ... And go looking for a cbr600rr ... Or similar....

Dont take this the wrong way, but if you blew the engine in your 250 and then in your 500, I dont think you have the skill sets to retrofit a larger engine in the bike.

Plus, for 800, you can buy a used 500 engine and be a direct swap

Sorry. I thought in your other thread you said you had a 250 and blew it and them got the 500 and had engine issues with it. Must have been another new member. My fault.

Heck, I found one for half that on ebay with free shipping.

about the closest thing for a direct swap would be the powerplant from a gr650 tempter. nearly same. shins are best friend. both me and buddha have tried this. only 1 problem. the gs500e and f engines the exhaust leaves the head straight. ( goes between frame rails. HOWEVER the gr650 engine leaves head at 45 degree angles aka facing frame rails. either have to modify frame rails to clear exhaust OR, find a way to mount a gs500 head to it if possible. NOW there is a former member here who took a gsxr600 i believe. and cut the two outer cylinders and mounted this engine to a gs500e frame and raced it. brb lil find pictures

Aaron: actually, the closest is a GS450. But you'll run into the same issues with the angled exhaust.  I know there's a reason that I can't remember.....but why can't a GS500 head sit on the GR cylinders? Pistons hit the edges of the combustion chamber?

Only "easy" motor...is the one that comes with it. As with any bike, they are generally designed around the motor, so swapping them is not a bolt-n-go process. Especially on these, so no, nothing you would want just swaps over.
