Anyways, i had some guy come out yelling at me at 9 AM because the whole neighborhood shouldnt have to listen to my "bullshit" every morning at the wake of "f%$king dawn" and i better get my shaZam! together. - I was staying at my friends apartment, First off, it was only the second time i was there and second, i was only warming up the engine before heading off (Which apparently is a "bullshit excuse for motorcycle riders like me who are complete ignorant assholes who want an excuse to show off our broken pieces of shaZam! before we go speeding through town causing major traffic disruptions") and since then any-time i go over to visit he comes flying out of his apartment phone in hand and stares at me then loudly bitches to the land-lord about my in-appropriate choice of vehicles, the landlord finally came over and complemented me on how my bike looks so   old man! but seriously? he couldn't at least ask my nicely or talked to me? i now have to re-assure this guy every time i'm there that i'm not going to sit in the parking lot for the next hour with my bike running (great way to waste gas!), and promise i'll do the speed limit in the parking-lot (there isnt one by the way) or else he's going to call the cops on me (again).


Please feel free to tard-farm this, i just really felt the need to rant and decided that i'd move it from somebody elses thread to a different one.

Your exhaust can't possibly be that loud, can it?

I'm on pretty good terms with all my neighbors, and the one across the street was joking about the exhaust on my GR650 (2 into 1 with a SuperTrapp muffler). I knew from the start he was joking and we even laughed about it. About a week later my brother in law came over on his Harley V-Rod with an aftermarket exhaust (I think it's called a Thunderheader?) - that thing is insanely loud. I can't even ride behind him on the highway.

After the bro-in-law left, my neighbor stopped over and said "I'm glad I live by you - I feel bad for his neighbors." Some people just need noise levels put into perspective.

iclrag - so what if he calls the cops. As long as you arent out in the parking lot doing doughnuts and intentionally revving the engine, what will they do? I highly bought the little GS violates any city noise ordinances if any even exist

How loud is it? Does it have no baffle or what? I personally like my vehicles somewhat loud but I hate loud vehicles driving by my house (yes I am a hypocrite) but I do try to be quiet by keeping RPMs down and drive the limit in area where there are homes. I live somewhat near the freeway and in a hot area so there are lots of bikes and I sleep with my windows open. It really pisses me off when a loud Harley goes down the freeway on the throttle and wakes me up at 3am (just happened this morning) but most sport bike do not bug me unless they are really loud, I think I put up with sports bikes and big V8s more than Harleys because I like them. Maybe that old man like Harleys?

 I have a neighbour that throws tupperware at me in the morning...i'm starting a collection. Got two so far. but seriously...my pipe is LOUD. I mean like I even wear earplugs to ride and I can still feel the compression in my ears from the flow kinda loud.

My neighbor calls my GS his Suzuki alarm clock. I start it at 7:30 am stock exhaust and everything. He has a Harley 3x as loud but does not ride to work in the morning. He knows my bike is not loud but it still wakes him up...sometimes. But, he's ok with it because he rides and we respect each other.  I told him I'd aim the pipe the other way in the direction to my other arsehole neighbor. I put up with that jackarses diesel truck he'd start at 4:40am on a summer morning and let it warm up for a half hour right outside my window. I bet that nut sack loves it when I warm up my VFR. It sounds like a blown V8.

It's not a problem if he calls the cops, i just hate having to explain that he's an annoying A-hole and i didnt do anything wrong, but the land-lord lives on-site and doesn't like having police show up all the time. It's not loud at all, infact its barely louder than stock it just idles deeper than the stock setups and no-where near a stock harley.
I should put up that compaint grenade on his door, all he does is watch his neighbors out his window all day or stand in the door and glare at people, kind of a delusional person i suppose

Nothing on this earth pleases me more than seeing a forum member on a rant.
The subject isn't really important, as long as your pissing & moaning you have my full and undivided attention.

People are stupid, man. 

Sorry you had a hard time. Relax and let it go, though--that's my best advice. I've been dealing with people like this my entire life, and they're just going to keep at it, so don't stress. It won't do you any good, anyway.
