Standard appears to be junk ... however the car now has original parts - pulled from other mitsu's from the junkyard.

Yup I put standards in a Taurus SHO was crap in 2-3 months. Replaced with a different brand no issues.

I was told standard was oem for chevy or something, not sure. Wont do it again however.

Glad you got her fixed.

The O2 sensor worked a few days before throwin engine light again. This time - catalytic converter ... I said Screw this, and reset it. Hasn't come back, but only drove 20 miles so far.

It's throwing a cat code because the rear O2 sensor effectively just tells you whether or not the cat is functioning properly. If the front sensor is reading fine and the rear sensor is reading off, the ECU assumes you have a bad cat. You've got a bad sensor.

Also, as far as the CEL goes, that's one that will only come up once the readiness codes are active, which usually takes about 50 miles.

If it is the converter most are covered for 100k or like 8-10 years as a mandate.. Not sure where the mileage/age is on the car if it was stated in the thread or not.

Car is 11+ years and 160K miles.
I guess I still could have a bad O2 sensor - OK I'll swap that bottom one next time the code pops up.
