Ok so I have a vapor digital gauge and its great minus the tach function. It is extremely jumpy and not accurate at all.

I know its from china, but this should work correct?

What year is your bike? I want to say '04+ use electronic tachs so you'd be in great shape. 89-00 for sure used mechanical ones

What year bike are you connecting it to, and where did you connect it?

junk301

its an 07 bike. I connected it to the spark plug coil. I also like the look of the analog tach. i prefer digital speedo however(reason for buying the vapor).

Soloratov

If it's an 07, then did you connect it to the same lead the factory tach was on? Or did you use the instructions from the Vapor unit?

junk301

i used the vapor instructions. i dont remember there being a lead i could connect. its only a black/red wire

Soloratov

Ok, I used a Koso gauge, and I know it had settings for all sorts of inputs, and a few related to tach. If your settings are off, the tach may not read properly.

Contact Trail Tech. There is a resistor they offer to fix the problem.
