Leaking tyre/rim

The rear was flat so inflated it to 36psi and noticed bubbles coming from the tyre rim bead. No hissing from the tyre just the bubbles from this one spot on the rim where it is slightly dinged from the last owner stayed solid for the afternoon but was flat again in the morning. So... Do you think this can be fixed with a small hammer to the rim to try seal the bead again or would I have to replace the rim? Anyone else had this problem before?

errrr... a tyre shop MIGHT be able to correct the rim/bead ... depends on how much it is deformed on the inside edge .. and if whatever it hit caused any stress fractures in the metal...

not something i would recommend to the backyard fixer seeing as it IS deformed enough to break the seal...

... someone on here is sure to have something in the way of spare rims .. and maybe even close enough to you?!

Haha doubt it! I live in the Falkland Islands. Will take it to my mechanic see if he can do anything

LMT, an inner-tube is an option if the mechanic isn't too keen on smithing the rim. Given you a big applaud just for being in the Falklands. How did a GS500 get that far South?
