R6 throttle tube issue

So I just got my Motion Pro 01-0094 R6 throttle tube in place on my '01. Has anyone had to sand down the top of the tube where the wires connect? When the top cap is off it springs back closed no problem. But when I bolt every back together it still works but it feels like it's rubbing inside and it springs back very slowly. I don't think the wires are too tight, they went on pretty easily. I had some play with the stock throttle tube and now it's completely gone (I was hoping for that) so I don't think that's the issue.

Is this as simple as a manufacturing defect, maybe a seam left over from the mold that's causing the interference? Or should I lube the throttle tube? I don't think I'm crazy, but I can feel it rub on the inside right under the kill switch.

Jumped the gun on this one. Found the issue, just stupid install error. When I was loosening the cables to install the throttle tube I actually turned the wrong knob on the return cable and made it way too tight without even knowing it. The grinding I was hearing was actually the return cable squeezing the tube against the bar causing it to return really slowly. I fixed it and it's installed and working perfectly.

This is an AWESOME mod. I just drove it around the block and THIS is how it should have come from the factory! Talk about an easy install as well (aside from my stupidity). Definitely recommend this mod!

What would you like me to take a picture of? You'd have no idea there was a R6 throttle tube under the grip until you twist the throttle.

LoL....I have the R6 and agree it is a good thing to do. I was saying to post pics because it might help someone else out. But if you dont have step by step pics, no worries then.

Gotchya. I just went on youtube and watched a how-to before tackling it. It's the same process as a million different bikes out there, it's not very GS500 specific.
