Hey All. My wife just got her license and her 2008 GS500F will be delivered tonight. :thumb:

Just wondering if there any known issues or things of that nature I should look out for. Any special maintenance needs I should be on the lookout for?

Thanks!

Welcome to here!  :D

... Hmmm known issues .... Yes there is quite a serious one!! ... Your wife's behaviour may change! .. She will love the bike so much that she may want to keep it inside the house! , buy it presents/bling , want to go riding at all hours!! , every second sentence will be 'my bike this and my bike that!' ...

You may start to feel jealous of your wife's new "boyfriend" , with his bulging shiny tank and smooth curved seat ..... And the way she smiles when close to him!! ...

I tells ya!! ... It a major behavioural upheaval you are facing here buddy!! ....  ;) ;) ;) :thumb:

Well, she puts up with me and my Wee. I guess it's only fair I do the same. It's is my fault she's riding in the first place  ;)

You'll probably want to swap out the front springs to ones a bit stiffer from racetech or sonic.  The stock springs are good if no one is on the bike.  As soon as you put a rider on there they are too soft and will bottom out on medium bumps and dive hard during any braking.

Be aware, this is not very wise advise!

Unless, of course, OP's wife weighs a buck thirty or less. Then the stock springs are probably ok.

Don't forget to post pics of the wife on her new bike! :D
