Hey Guys,
My bike (the poor thing) has NO acceleration, NO power. Especially at high rpm, if it gets up there, and sounds really throaty when you give it gas. But oddly enough it idle's fine, around 1400rpm... but this hasn't been a constant problem, or at least it not until now. I'd have it come and go every now and then last year. Finally, and all of a sudden it got real bad. I was 500 miles away from home riding on 1 cylinder. I took it in to a near by shop and the man there helped me out. We figured out that a connection what he called the left "ignition coil" was loose (shown in one of the pictures). So we re-crimped it and I was happily on my way. Then it happen 2 more times  in the months following. So I ended up soldering the damn connection together, and I thought that had put an end to it once and for all. But now it's back and I don't know what to do... I checked it and the other coil  with an ammeter. It looks like the connection is good from the coil to the connection shown by the yellow arrow and black thing bellow the carb (shown by the red arrow). I have no idea what that black thing is or what it does... or anything... I really could throw a brick through a window right now  :2guns::technical:... and if I didn't love this bike I'd get another. But I gotta figure this out, and soon. I have a trip planned to Tail of the Dragon. We leave next Thursday. D:

As always any and all help is greatly appreciated!

Hi paragon, I seem to remember that the coils can go bad with an internal connection going south.
Try swapping coils to see if the problem moves to the other cylinder. While out examine the coils closely for any obvious faults. If the problem moves to the other side, replace the coil.
