Oil pressure saga continues, bearings this time.

So, some of you will remember that I had very low oil pressure, found i used an incorrect gasket, changed  that, it came up a bit but is at about half of here it should be (and a bit lower than the 10 psi per 1000 rpm rule) at 3000 RPM it is about 20 psi with 20W50 in the engine.

Have changed filter and oil pump in the past so those are good.

So I stripped the bottom half and I found that the clearance of the outside main bearings and the balancing shaft bearings were .06mm (the limit is 0.08 as you would know:)) (inside main bearings and big end were better 0.035mm).

This does not seem bad enough to be causing my oil pressure problems, or is it? any ideas appreciated.

one thing really confusing me is that the gasket on the clutch cover (where the oil enters to go to the balancer shaft bearing through the channels in the crank/cover seems to be bowed in the incorrect direction. The pressure in the main crankcase oil channel should push the gasket out, but in the photo you will see the gasket is pushed in towards the oil channel.

regards

Brett
