On my mitsu diamante I seem to have run through this set of falken sincera's in 15k.
The wear was even and the car was never run hard, tars were rotated a bit more often than needed even ... and still we wore this set in 15k.

Cool.

I had a set of factory tyres on a 2007 Mitsi Lancer Wagon wear out in about 15-17k km.  From memory they were also Falkens, very very soft compound - they were great to drive on, but think it depends on the road surface more than anything as to life expectancy - we have a lot of rough chip roads, and I suspect the Falkens fitted to the Mitsis (factory tyres especially) are designed for much smoother seal.

How does your alignment look? A little bit of toe can make tires wear out very fast.

Without it feathering ? It looked very smoothly wore out.

pressures? ... though that normally shows in bad wear ...

which Sincera ?... there a couple different ones..

know you said car not run hard.... but .. anyone else use it?

Falken are somewhat known for having nice soft grippy street race tyres available ... so ...

.. its rare for this to happen .. but it does happen .. during manufacturing the outer layer tread compound for this tyre or that tyre can be put into the wrong mold before curing and while it looks legit in the flesh ... you end up with a bitchin hard 'street' tyre .. or... a fabulously grippy and soft long haul tyre ...

one other thought.... because of advances in tech and style nowadays... sure it was a Brand NEW pair? ... i have recently seen a couple recap tyres .. that until i got right down inches from the sidewall/tread merge point... could not tell it was a recap!... they were near flawless!!

OK we have Kumho expert something on it now, and the car in the wife's opinion is like running on raw eggs ...
Maybe the falken sincera was a race slick with treads in it ...
The discount tar people gave us a huge credit for them ...
Maybe some defect they will warrantee with falken ... I'll keep y'all posted, the alignment numbers will tell what it was like ... I know driver rear has bad camber ... but that is obviously showing as inside wear.

cool beans you getting result from the tyre place!!  :thumb: :thumb:

though i would say if they were real easy to deal with like that .. could be a bad batch .. you probably aint the first customer come back .. but they wont admit it out loud .. just send the shonky rubber back to falken for 'investigation' ... perhaps a bad curing process in the mold .. not enough heat during that.... makes a big difference i am told

good result overall yes?!  :D

Toe will only cause feathering if it is significantly off. If it's only a slight misalignment, there usually will not be any feathering.

Another note: camber will not cause significant localized wear in and of itself. Toe wear mixed with negative camber is when you start to see the inside of the tire wearing down just on the inside.

And a third note: what others have said about Falken are pretty accurate. Falken is best known for their high performance line, which are soft compounds. I don't know much about the Sincera line, but even with an RT-615K (high performance summer tire) 15k would be a bit low. I had a set of RT-615's on one of my previous cars, they outlasted the car--that totaled out to about 20k miles plus a few autocrosses, and I bought them used.

OK I guess we go get everything aligned. The camber in that rear was off so much, you could see it sitting on the driveway ...
Anyway I've got some hard as a rock tars now I think ... so I'll check the numbers and keep a close eye on it.

Bad ball joints or tie rod ends can really accelerate tire wear as well.

yup. after i wrapped miss piggy ( my CVPI) around a tree, got a free camry lol. smashed on side. but driveable. wasnt worth fixing its ball joints. would eat a pair of $5 every two weeks.

That isn't bad on this car ... Those will make it wear inner side first ... not all the way across, and not smoothly evenly ...
Really, 15k tars, look like they had 35k on em. The inner on the driver rear is worn to the cord, but well that is the only defect, I rotated the tars very often, and that inner wear has been out in other locations, but there is no extra wear on them after that.
The usual game was to put the best tar in that location, and the worst one in the passenger front ...
Anyway I am checking everything, but I am thinking all that is bad is that 1 camber, maybe the passenger rear camber a wee bit ...
The rest is fine ... subject to confirmation.

Are these for the wife's car?  I thought she drove it like she stole it.

Aligned and rotating today, barely made 1000 miles, lets see how these hold up ...
The tie rod ends need swapping in front, the rear has 4 tire strips tolding the control arms outward a wee bit, knuckle bushing was kaput on the left ... swapped it, and everything eyeballed right, and now it is aligned as well ...
Lets see what it does ...

Cool.
