cabie vacuum hose?

I ran through Marc's carbie-rebuild on the weekend which went really well, but I've gone and lost where the Vacuum hose needs to go. After putting the bike back together I found that I have to run it on PRI otherwise it sputters and dies. I'm guessing that this means I've plugged the vacuum hose in wrong.

The walkthrough is a little indistinct on the matter - can anyone help me out?

The vacuum hose (item #53) in
this diagram

is the same as the unnumbered hose in
this diagram.

I'm going to have to get myself a copy of one of the service-manuals. Alas, there isn't a copy for sale in the city of Canberra, so may have to borrow a credit card and order one off Amazon.
