so today i did a 100 mile ride, went home then parked my bike at the skatepark, i go to leave open the switch press the starter, click everything turns off no more power??? i push start it, its starts but does not go faster than idle it doesnot have enough fire, so i boosted my bike on someone car and everything works great, i soon as we take off the booster cable the bike stays at idle and the lights flicker?? so im guessing my battery is the problem but why?? what could have cause this, it just randomly happend when i press the starter switch?? thanks !!!

Unlike car battery's, when a MC battery dies it is a quick death, often without warning. Your charging system also may have quit working.

Is it possible that you accidentally turned the key to the P[ark] position when you turned the bike off?  That will leave your brake light on and can drain the battery fairly quickly.

Before taking other "serious action", put the battery on a trickle charger until it is fully charged.  If you have similar problems at that point, we can walk through some diagnostics for the charging system, etc.

right now its parked far from my house, and the battery was working fine till i press to start engine, all lights just closed as if a fuse broke, but if i boost from a other car and run off there battry it works fine, as soon as i unplug the booster cables the light flicker and dim and the bike will have no power

Blueknyt

that sounds more like a poor connection at the batt term

i charged my battry for over an hour it only goes up to around 11.5 volts, and every second it drops voltage .01 at a time, i think my battry might be faulty?

How long have you had it? If it's a long time, no harm done replacing it, so why not? Once you clear the battery as a possibility (not an easy task) then we can see if it's something else causing the problem.

Clear indication of a dead battery.
Run as fast as you can and get a new one. Don't be cheap. Get a good one.

Batteries are strange my friend. one problem can quickly lead to another. I hope your charging system is alright still. Must likely is just the battery.
