Well I'm in luck I found a shop who is parting out an '06 Katana & they are going to sell me tomorrow the rear  wheel assembly for $90. It has a 160 already mounted on it.

I do plan to mount a 170 on it & try to make it work. If it is successful I will post pics. The only thing I will have to modify for the time being is the break rod.

You want a 170 section PR3?

Barely used, ~325 miles.

I sell it to you super cheap! That way you can pass it along to the next GSer for what you paid.

Hey WEEDAHOE,

Is the rear break rod the same size for the 600 & 1200 Bandit? I got one from a 600 Bandit off of ebay about to start replacing it.

Doubt it. The 600 tire is more narrow than the 1200. Thus why the 1200 is used

bandit 600 one fits as i have one on mine with this wheel swap plenty of room with 150 , and around 2mm with metzler m1 ...160/60/17

ohgood

I don't understand a few things...

why not tighten the axle nut proper, and use the axle adjusters to.... adjust the alignment / chain tension ? if you do it wrong, you bend them.

what's the point of the 150+ series tire on back ? the profiles won't match the front... the 3.5" wheel doesn't exactly spread the profile right... so why ?
