Does anyone have any piston rings or piston ring sets? Or know where I can buy them? I broke one piston ring so if I can(and it's ok to do) I'd rather just replace the one, but if its better to just replace all of them I'll do that. If anyone has any I can buy or knows of a good place to buy them I would really appreciate it.

Thank you!

Thanks, I guess what I'm asking is: does any ring meant for a 74 mm bore work? or does it have to be specific to the gs500? All i can find specific to the gs is $30+ ring sets. im low on cash and id rather just replace the one...i mean for around $40 i could get some pistons, rods and rings on ebay(together).

So nobody has an extra piston ring?(second one down) or piston ring set/s that I can buy? Should I just buy two of the $35 dollar sets I've seen on parts sites?

No one likely has any because one builds an engine. Its a general understanding it's cheaper and less headache to buy a replacement engine.

I bought a wreaked 05 once just for the engine. Sold parts off the bike and even the frame so I made money and got a free engine out of it

well id rather pay $200 + some work to fix this engine than $700+ for a new one. I got my bike for $350 and the bike seems to be fine other than bad compression. I think it is probably the valves though so I just need to replace this one ring hone the cylinders and put it back together.(pistons needed to be cleaned anyways, that's why I took it apart) It looks like i might be better off buying a set of pistons with the rings off of ebay though.

I'm a highschool student with no job, so time is easier to find than money.

I keep forgetting to look. I have a box of pistons and I believe there were several GS pistons with rings.
Common sense in not very common.

If you find some gs pistons with rings I might be interested in buying either the rings or if you don't want to just sell the rings I might be able to buy the whole pistons as well.

Finally got to them. Got a complete set. $5 shipped
