Lot of time and $ put into this project.  Looks real good!

You should make a youtube video of it and how it sounds. :tongue2:
1991 GS500E 13k miles.  Just getting back into riding after about 8 years.  Have owned many bikes in the past, so far the GS500 seems like a great bike.

Gorilla

For the seat I only did the design, the drawing and the colours. the sheet metal work was done by a guy named jerryt
The rest of the bike was don by my own hands ;)

As it slowly starts to get colder outside, i decided to grab some tools and work on my bike again.
I hope to swap the engine for a 2007 one with only a view km's on it. At the same time the carbs will be changed for one with a dynojet stage 3 kit including open air filter.

Today i started the striptease and in the next view weeks the next things have to be done:

1- Take the old engine out.
2- Finish the new engine (a view parts are missing)
3- Installing the new engine in the bike and add oil and filter.
4- Check if the engine works well and if it does take it out again for a fresh new paint job.
5- End finally building it all together again and adjusting the carbs on the dyno.

Here a view pictures of today:

As you can see the engine is ready to be taken out..

Thanks, i wanted the colours to be original Suzuki, and I was really surprised with the result after the paintjob.

This morning i bought Oil + filter, exhaust gasket, heat resistand paint and brake cleaner.
This because my girlfriend allowed me to play in the shed today  :woohoo:
First i opened the new engine to check it from the inside, when everything looked oke, i mounted everything back with new gasgets and filter.
I also switched both sides with does of my old engine, they were just painted and looked a lot better than the ones on the new engine. At the same time my girlfriend sanded and painted the exhaust  :thumb: on the picture it is still wet when it is dry it will be matt black.
The result of this day in the shed: The engine is ready to be mounted and the exhaust is nicely black and ready for the next summer.

A view pictures:

Tomorrow i will try to take the old engine out so i can install the new one for testing.

fleshpiston

looking good dB !

I hope you keep the red valve cover on the new motor, matches the brake caliper, adds balance  :thumb:   O0

Well, that was not what i planed, but......
I worked on the bike whole weekend and finished it yesterday around 16:00, so I WAS happy...
When i started it for the first time i immediately heard that the big end bearings are screwed.

Next plan is to open my old engine, take the crankshaft out, and put it in the new engine.... or get the gears and head of the new engine and install them to the old engine... maybe the last option is the easyest.
This will be a long winter  :icon_lol:  ill keep u guys updated.

dB-tje

So here we go..... again  :icon_mrgreen:

This morning i got the new engine out again, now it's time to order a bunch of new gasgets and other stuf, so finale i can make one fresh engine of these both.

TheOzTurkish

It looks like it needs a big ass supercharger on the side :D that's insane work man gotta be proud every time you hop on
You can run, but you'll only die tired.
If you hit it with a hammer and it doesn't fix it, you have an electrical problem
