Where is the vent hose supposed to exit? :P

Did a valve adjustment on my GS (boy, I wish all bikes were that easy) but I forget to disconnect the vent hose and pulled it through the frame when I lifted off the gas tank. D'oh! I think I have it roughly right, but just to be sure, where is the vent hose supposed to exit? Can't find any decent pictures for reference.

Which one, carb vent or tank vent? I have the carb vent back near the battery and the tank vent hanging somewhere to the right of the shock.

The vent hose from the bottom of the tank exits near right rider peg along with the battery vent nose and the airbox drain hose.
407,400 miles in 30 years for 13,580 miles/year average.  Started riding 7/21/84 and hung up helmet 8/31/14.

I think so. but if it were me, id tuck that vent hose over frame rail so whatever leaves it, hits ground not exhaust. to me it looks like its terminus is over the top of exhaust header

Nah, it's just the picture - that's the stock exhaust and it runs under the bike. If I tucked in the hose to exit inside of the frame rail, then it WOULD dump on to the exhaust.

Reminds me of the hilarious time I rode a new-to-me shiny ZX-11D to work, only to find out that the previous owner (or his mechanic) had put the petcock together wrong, and it would enthusiastically leak under the pressure of a full tank of gas. So immediately after parking it, I noticed that it was pissing gas all over the hot motor.
